The Epicurean: A Hotel Dedicated to “The Good Life” with a Little Bit of Whimsy

Walking into the Epicurean lobby one gets an immediate sense of the attention to detail that went into the development of this unique property that tickles the palate, literally and figuratively.

It’s not your average reception area — wine racks are desks and the ceiling and walls were made with crates from Bern’s Steak House’s legendary wine collection. Although, you could just as likely be met curbside by a wandering host who will welcome you and check you in with an iPad. Food and Art are on the Menu in Wynwood: A New Miami Culinary Tour

Miamians know. Art Basel devotees know. Wynwood, a formerly downtrodden, low income, somewhat industrial and small neighborhood bordering Midtown and the Design District, went through a gentrification over the past decade. Years ago, people drove through this area with their windows up and doors locked. Today, they flock in and walk around. It’s a destination, a hot spot for foodies and lovers of art.

Enter Miami Culinary Tours. As you may recall, I’ve written about their Little Havana and South Beach tours, both of which are thoroughly enjoyable, so I was thrilled when they recently announced a new culinary tour of Wynwood.
