As the de facto tour planner and group leader, I’m very pleased with my group who gathered to visit Panama. Bloggers arrived from New York, Toronto, Vancouver, The Netherlands, Texas, Italy, Germany, Dubai and me from Fla-la-la.
They brought some luscious dishes. But they didn’t stop there. I encourage you to click through to the individual blogs…you’ll find interesting dialogue, personal remembrances, historic information, original poetry, fashion and a lively musical video that will make you want to shake your booty.
Val of More Than Burnt Toast in Vancouver arrived first with Johnny Mazzetti pasta and a very informative post about the history of the country and this dish.
Mary (affectionately known as Giz) at Equal Opportunity Kitchen in Toronto gave us a glimpse at the traditional garb and a sweet empanada filled with baked apples.
My friend Norma of Platanos, Mangos + Me! in New York ‘mixed it up’ with a ceviche mixta. Don’t you just love those cute avocado hearts?
Anamaris of Chef It Yourself is originally from Panama and she told me was going to bring her ‘A game’ to this stop on the tour and, boy, did she! She did a classic Guacho de Mariscos (Rice + Seafood) and a contemporary Langostinos con Caramelo de Maracuyo, Chayote y Aire de Coco.
Oz, from Kitchen Butterfly in The Netherlands, made a French-inspired Panamaian bread called Pan Micha. She also wrote a lovely thematic poem that is worth the click over to her blog.
Torwen of Torwen’s Blog joins us for the first time with a vegan polenta-based tamale de olla. She’s in Heidelberg, Germany.
I’m also delighted to welcome Sally of My Custard Pie in Dubai to the tour. She made a tropical smoothie of pineapple and mango.
Cinzia of Cindystar in Lake Garda, Italy was a constant companion in past tours. I’m happy she’s traveling with us again. For Panama, she made ceviche and a pineapple-lemon punch. She also posted a muy caliente music video.
And, in case you missed it, FOODalogue presented the carimañola with an updated inside-out twist.
It’s not too late to join us. Hop on at any point.
