Caldo Gallego • Wordless Wednesday

With temps dipping into the low 30s in SoFlorida, it’s a good time for Caldo Gallego and a glass of red. I prefer a Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina, like the Portillo (2008), pictured here.

Yeah, it was in the 30′s here in Dallas, too. Ridiculous. And I didn’t even have the Caldo Gallego! Sigh. It looks fantastic.

Lower 30s? Wow, it’s almost like Mexico City. The good thing is that by noon we are back to the 60s and 70s :) Great looking caldo!

There was a place on 23rd Street, El Quijote, that made THE best caldo gallego. This sure looks like it would be a contender.

  7. Interesting to hear that it’s cool where you are…what a great excuse to open the Argentinian red and enjoy this beautiful caldo gallego!

  8. Looks great Joan…now that it’s slightly cooler in Florida it’s a perfect time to enjoy those Argentinian reds!
