Culinary Tour 2010 • Brazil Round-Up

February 10, 2010 by Joan Nova in Culinary Tour Around the World | 11 Comments

Bloggers tapped into a colorful and flavorful variety of dishes for the round-up. I’m also happy to welcome 3 first-time contributors and I encourage readers to visit their blogs. Like with other food blogging events, a round-up is a tease meant to induce you to visit all contributors’ blogs and reward them with a comment. :) Just like the dishes they brought to the tour, each post is unique in the narrative, recipes, personal anecdotes and lots of great photos.

Dessert first. Erica of My Colombian Recipes made these beautiful chocolate candies called Brigadeiros.

BunkyCooks in Atlanta joined us for the first time on this tour with a fish stew called Moqueca de Peixe.

Lori of FakeFoodFree in Kentucky used to live in Brazil so she told us about Romeu e Julieta and this lovely pastry.

This luscious cachaca rum-laced Batida di Abacaxi comes from Cinzia of CindyStar in Lake Garda, IT.

Oz from Kitchen Butterfly enlightened and entertained with a historic narrative, poetry, the Nigerian link and  a recipe for these Akara snacks made from black eyed beans.

Silver Moon Dragon in Geelong, Australia joins us for the first time with this iced Brazilian Chocolate spiked with coffee and cola.

Natasha of 5 Star Foodie brings Bola de Fuba Cremoso, a savory cake that naturally separates into layers.

The Lab provided some great photos of the sights in Brazil and Bizcoitos de Maizena cookies.

Next Stop: Colombia, February 15
