Because of its teeny size and relative obscurity, I wondered if I was going to be alone in El Salvador but I should have known better. The food blogging community thrives on challenges. With this post, we even welcome our first Nigerian food blogger (currently residing in The Netherlands).
Come then to the table and see what we have.
Val of More Than Burnt Toast in Canada was the first to show up with pupusas, curtido and Salvordan tomato sauce.
Giz of An Equal Opportunity Kitchen in Canada made a Pollo Encebollada (Smothered Onion Chicken).

Kitchen Butterfly brings us a taste of Nigeria as well as El Salvador with a Platano Frito Wrap and home-made “Dorito” Salsa.

Erica of My Colombian Recipes made 2 versions of stuffed pupusas and a curtido accompaniment.

Peter of Souvlaki for the Soul in Australia made Atol de Elote, a silky corn dessert/drink.

Jolita of Surfing the World’s Cuisine in Turkey took a different approach to pupusas and made hers with rice flour.

I have to give Cinza of Cindystar in Lake Garda, Italy two photos because she not only made pupusas with tomato sauce, she also made a delicious looking sweet Salvadoran quesadilla.
And, in case you missed it, FOODalogue made Elote Loco (crazy corn).

After spending untold dollars in pursuit of higher education, I can’t tell you how gratifying it is to have such learning opportunities at my fingertips. What a fantatic response. I was introduced to so many new foods.

Now I am dying for papusas. Off to Antonio’s tomorrow to get some! The Salvadorians also have a very rich sour cream that is unlike ours. Thick, rich and a bit more tangy.
