FoodBuzz Festival • San Francisco

November 3, 2009 by Joan in Blogging, Travel Retrospectives | 15 Comments

fb-logo-blogger-festivalI’m leaving soon for the FoodBuzz Festival in San Francisco…and a festival it is! Hundreds of food bloggers from all over the world are getting together for a wonderful weekend of festivities arranged for us by our hosts, the FoodBuzz team. I look forward to actually meeting and interacting with some of my online friends and making new ones. A perfect menu of eats, drinks and socializing awaits us! The itinerary is…

Friday. Welcome cocktail reception and light bites at the Hotel Vitale, followed by a fun Street Food Fare with international food served from local vendor food trucks and paired with brews, vinos and cocktails.

Saturday. Breakfast. We start with gourmet coffee and breakfast sandwiches at the atmospheric Farmer’s Market in the Ferry Building. Afterwards, we get to stroll the market at leisure and then attend a session of our choice. I’m sitting in on a 45-minute ‘farm to table’ discussion.

Lunch. Sips, tastes, and conversation at the grand Tasting Pavilion. There will also be food demonstrations, book signings by 3 food blogger colleagues who have recently been published and additional sessions. For the afternoon, I chose to attend  California ‘sparklers’ (champagne).

Dinner is a food and wine pairing served ‘family style’ on a communal table (imagine hundreds of people at one very long table). The venue is a produce warehouse, another fun setting for a group of foodies. The evening ends with an awards ceremony.

Sunday. Farewell brunch and adieu to old and new blogging friends.

But it’s not over for me. I’m joining some personal friends (my travel buds) and will extend the stay a few days to take in more SF sights. Of course, I’m looking forward to visiting the wine country again and I’m also hoping they still serve Irish Coffee at the Buena Vista Cafe which I recall was a fun stop on the trolley.

Yes, it’ll be a non-stop “eat, drink, and snap photos” affair…and when I return, I’ll post about the trip and add San Francisco to my I ATE series.

Staying in touch. If my fingers are not too busy (or sticky) from transporting food to my face, I will tweet and send photos of the adventure via twitter.com/foodalogue and/or update on facebook.com/joannova.

P.S. You might want to take a look at a new page I’ve added to FOODalogue called Social Media/Awards. You can access it from the menu bar.
