While not yet totally accesorized, I felt FOODalogue was sufficiently ‘dressed up’ to come on out and meet you. Besides, I couldn’t wait another minute. Over the next few days (and as things become available), I’ll introduce you to individual features. And then, of course, I’ll get back to the business of posting about FOOD! I’ve got lots of delicious things to share with you.
I drafted a story about my journey from blogger to wordpress with all the nitty gritty ups and (mostly) downs, but then decided…what for? I’m here now! To any of my fellow bloggers who want specific info, I’d be happy to share the experience with you in an e-mail, the highlights of which are:
1. It helps to have a son who is a graphic artist. Jim, took all my incessant ramblings about what I wanted my logo* and blog to look like and created the visual in a pdf, but he doesn’t know programming so I had to find someone to translate that design into code.
2. Enter/exit the first programmer. After about a month’s worth of discussions via e-mail, he mysteriously fell off the face of the earth. However, before orbiting, he suggested a template that could be configured to meet most of my desires.
3. A Brilliant Idea. I was totally bummed when the programmer disappeared, at my frustration max and just about to give up on the project when my son suggested “go to the source”. Curtis Henson, the creator of the template, not only brought my dream to reality in a very efficient manner, he patiently held my hand and led me through the wordpress maze. He was fair in his fee and a pleasure to deal with.
Thank you Jim…thank you Curtis!
I leave you today with an introduction to a new feature: my pages, which can be accessed by clicking on the title in the top menu bar (or by links in the sidebar).
About: Contact info — and more than you ever wanted to know about me.
Meandering Meals:
• The first link (Meandering Meals) links my most recent trips to New York and Boston but soon will have many more links as I move some of my other travel/food adventures into that category.
• The second link under this tab is The Culinary Tour Around the World. You can re-live our visits by clicking on the links to each country.
• A third page in this category will link to travel essays.
Over time I plan to add more pages with varying content.
• I’m hoping to open a store where you can link to and purchase items I personally recommend.
• I’m also contemplating introducing you to some of my art/craft work (when it’s a little more developed).
Meantime, come back tomorrow and I’ll introduce you to features in the sidebar and a few navigational tips. And then I’ll slap on my apron and get cooking…promise!
*Oh, and about that logo, keep an eye on the bowl. It’s ingredients will change from time to time.

Joan – such talent. I am proud to say – Hey that’s my cousin! I know the frustration of computers and programming. I am currently the Director of IT at the Military Academy of West Point. Most days – I’d rather use a pencil and paper!
