I don’t know how many food bloggers are out there in the blogosphere. Thousands? Tens of thousands? I follow about 150 on a regular basis and they all do great work. The criteria for my monthly ‘best’ picks is quirky and subjective. It is whatever especially piques my interest for whatever reason.Since I’m an infrequent dessert eater, I generally pass by the sweet or bakerty posts rather quickly without comment, but Erica of My Colombian Recipes did a rice pudding/flan/creme brulee that made me stop and linger and say “that’s very creative and probably very tasty.”

Mari of Once Upon a Table created a crustless zucchini quiche which caught my eye because of the presentation and the technique used to create these tall individual quiches.

And, great for the dog days of summer (or any day), I found these two watermelon recipes especially refreshing.
From Healthy, Delicious, a watermelon BLT with chips and blue cheese dip — and check out the microwave tip for the chips on her blog.

I was also particularly intrigued with a Watermelon Gazpacho which came from Ben of What’s Cooking?

Mmmmm…those all look good. I will have Ben’s gazpacho for a main, and then the rice pudding/flan/creme brulee for dessert!

Amazing picks and thanks a lot for including my gazpacho. It is intriguing, I know, but it was good. If you make it I suggest you make the changes I recommended at the end
